How to find Les Gacheries - Gites for two

Les Gacheries is in the Perigord Vert, the rural North of Dordogne. Local airports include Angouleme, Bergerac, Bordeaux, Limoges and La Rochelle. T.G.V. (fast train)is available at Angouleme. We recommend that you hire a car to get the best out of your visit or if you prefer you can bring your own.




Below we offer some suggested routes but we can personalise directions from your port or airport of entry to France.

How to find us

From CHERBOURG- St.Lo, Domfront, Laval, Angers, Loudon, Poitiers, Angouleme. (Then signs for Perigueux)

From LE HAVRE/CAEN- Pont de Tancarville (toll), Pont Audemer, Bernay, Gace, Alencon, Le Mans, Tours, Poitiers, Angouleme. (Then signs for Perigueux)

From CALAIS/BOULOGNE- Montreuil, Abbeville, Poix, Beauvais, Mantes, Chartres, Orleans, Poitiers, Angouleme. (Then signs to Perigueux)

From ROSCOFF - Morlaix, St. Brieuc, Rennes, Nantes, Niort, Angouleme. (Then signs for Perigueux)

In ANGOULEME follow the (green and white) signs to Perigueux out of town. Follow the D939 past Carrefour, a large hypermarket at Soyaux and on through the villages of Ste. Catherine and Dignac. Continue to La Rochebeaucourt and on entering the village turn right on to the road to Riberac, (D12).
Set your milometer to 0 and just after 7 miles take the right turn to Cherval. The village is half a mile up this road and you you will pass the bakers on the left and the church on your right. At the corner by the bar turn right. After about a mile turn left at the crossroads on to the D100, towards Nanteuil.
After half a mile turn right, signposted Puy-de-Versac and Champagne. This road takes you over a little bridge with a chateau on your right and up a hill. At the top of the hill the road divides into three. Take the extreme right hand turning , which will lead you past an old farmhouse on your left and you will see Les Gacheries straight in front of you.


From LIMOGES airport directions are as follows: follow N141 signposted towards Angouleme, as far as St Junien where you turn left to Rochechouart and then on to Nontron. Just south of Nontron look out for the D708 on the right signposted Mareuil. This windy but scenic road takes you to the D 939, the main road between Angouleme and Perigeaux. Turn right and go as far as Rochebeaucourt- et-Argentine where you turn left on the D12 towards Riberac. Set your milemeter to 0 and just after 7 miles take the right turn to Cherval. From BERGERAC Airport: Leaving the airport complex turn right to Bergerac. It is well worth visiting this lovely town with a medieval old town, on the River Dordogne. Whether you stop or not follow signs to Mussidan, and then to Riberac.
Go straight thro Riberac signposted towards Angouleme. After about 15k you will pass through Verteillac, continue on the main road for about 2k and look out for a left turn to Cherval. As you arrive in the village, continue straight on keeping the bar to your right.
After about a mile turn left at the crossroads on to the D100, towards Nanteuil.
